In addition to providing advanced treatments such as glaucoma laser surgery, glaucoma implants surgery, and cataracts surgery, Dr. Lawrence F. Jindra's office provides a number of services to improve vision and appearance, including dry eye treatment, prescription eye glasses, and BOTOX® Cosmetic. Our New York City/Long Island-area practice is dedicated to providing personal care tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Forehead frown lines and crow's feet wrinkles around the eyes are due in large part to overactivity of facial muscles. The constant use of the muscles in the forehead, brow, and eye areas can result in deep creases and wrinkles. BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments, offered at our Long Island office, serving all of New York City, can significantly reduce or eliminate many of these creases and wrinkles, creating a more youthful, smooth, and refreshed appearance.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a therapeutic muscle-relaxing agent that blocks the release of acetylcholine from the nerve endings. When targeted for specific facial muscles, BOTOX® Cosmetic injections allow the overactive facial muscles to relax. Forehead frown lines, laugh lines, or wrinkles around the eyes disappear, providing incredibly natural-looking and beautiful results. This popular treatment is an ideal option for most patients interested in facial rejuvenation. During your BOTOX® Cosmetic consultation at our Long Island/New York City-area practice, Dr. Jindra can determine if this procedure is appropriate for you.
BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments require no anesthesia, though some patients may request a cold compress or anesthetic cream to numb the area prior to a BOTOX® Cosmetic injection. Because BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment takes only a few minutes and is associated with minimal side effects or downtime, it is an extremely convenient and effective option for many patients. Typically, results of BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment are evident two to seven days following the procedure and last up to several months before maintenance treatments are needed. For more information on BOTOX® Cosmetic in the New York City area, contact our Long Island office today.

The human eye is lubricated by two kinds of tears produced by tear glands in the upper and lower eyelid: constant tears, which are continuously formed to lubricate the eye and contain natural antibiotics; and reflex tears, which are produced in response to irritation, injury, or emotion and help rinse the ocular surface. A balance is necessary between the two types of tears to ensure that your eyes are comfortable and protected.
Unfortunately, more than 10 million Americans suffer from dry eyes, a condition caused by an imbalance in the tear system which can result from a number of factors, including age, contact lenses, medication, the environment, and even arthritis. Common symptoms of dry eyes include itching, burning, irritation, redness, blurred vision, and excessive watering.
Dr. Jindra offers a number of treatments to deal with dry eyes, including Restatis therapy, artificial tears, and punctual plugs. He can determine which treatment is best for you. For more information on dry eye treatment, as well as prescription glasses and BOTOX® Cosmetic in New York City, contact our Long Island office today.
