To add to the convenience of our Floral Park ophthalmology practice, Dr. Gina M. Cardone and Dr. Meghan J. Schiffer serve as our on-site optometrists.

Dr. Cardone was graduated in 2004 from a joint admission program between SUNY Albany and SUNY State College of Optometry. She then completed a residency program in Primary Eye Care and Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation (Low Vision) at the Northport VAMC in 2005. Dr. Cardone has been in the private practice of optometry since then, treating patients of all age ranges, including children and also supervises optometry students and residents at the Northport VAMC.

Dr. Cardone is a member of the American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association and is currently secretary of the Suffolk County Optometric Society.

Amidst Dr. Cardone's busy schedule, she allocates time to Dr. Jindra’s office. Dr. Cardone does not treat patients for low vision, but her specialties do include contact lenses, vision therapy, and ocular pathology. Dr. Cardone’s welcoming smile and dedication to high-quality patient care make her a vital asset to Dr. Jindra’s office.

Dr. Meghan J. Schiffer currently resides in Floral Park where she was born and raised.  Dr. Schiffer was graduated in 2014 from SUNY College of Optometry in New York, NY; she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from The Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Schiffer provides patients with refractions for spectacle prescriptions, to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, as well as post operative care.

Outside of the office, Dr. Schiffer enjoys traveling, hiking, and running; she has traveled to 26 out of the 50 states and completed the Philadelphia half marathon in November, 2012.
